MISSION STATEMENT
The Chicago Association of Religious Educators is a professional organization
of faith filled catechetical leaders. Our vision, rooted in the Gospel, calls us to be a prophetic people. Through our ministry, we dedicate ourselves to vitalize the domestic church, embrace diversity, and advocate justice for all persons. Grounded in the past, while visioning the future, we voice our passion by living the professional and personal face of the catechetical ministry. June, 1997GOALS
To articulate our identity as Catechetical Leaders.
To provide structures so that Catechetical Leaders can formulate positions and recommend guidelines dealing with Religious Education and Formation issues in the Archdiocese.
To work towards continuous total parish catechesis.
To provide opportunities to meet with peers for professional and spiritual enrichment, to exchange ideas and to address the challenges of catechetical ministry.
To work to uphold the Catechetical Standards and Archdiocesan Policies.
To advocate for just employment policies for Catechetical Leaders.
To research issues, current trends and developments in catechesis and communicate these to the appropriate Archdiocesan agencies.
